It’s opinionated to the extent that I have opinions about which extensions I like, and how they can be used to together to create particular effects in a teaching and learning environment.

It’s open not least in the sense that you are free to set up the environment as you want by installing and enabling particular extensions to customise the environment. OpenJALE, the Open Jupyter Authoring and Learning Environment, is an open, opinionated Jupyter notebook based environment for authoring and working with notebook based learning materials.
